Dr. Joely Gardner
Joely Gardner, Ph.D., is an experienced human factors and usability testing expert specializing in medical devices, software, and web-based applications. She does national and international usability testing and voice of customer research projects for companies such as Allergan, Bespak Injectables, Thermo Fisher Scientific, Mitchell Medical, Quest Diagnostics Clinical Trials Division, and Cardinal Health. She also works with technology companies like Google, Facebook, Sony, and Intuit bringing the voice of the customer into early-stage product development efforts. She brings expert value to start-ups as well as enterprise-level organizations and is skilled at working in cross-functional design and development teams.
In addition to her well-regarded consulting practice, Dr. Gardner has chaired the Education Committee of SDRAN (San Diego Regulatory Affairs Network). She is also a part-time faculty member at California State University at Fullerton. Her efforts include a graduate-level Certificate Program for Customer Experience and User-Centered Design.
Joely is a frequently requested speaker for industry conferences. For example, she presented a pre-conference workshop on “Best Practices for Incorporating Human Factors throughout Each Phase of the Device Lifecycle” at the 8th Annual Human Factors and User Experience for Medical Device Design conference in May 2021.
Dr. Gardner received her undergraduate degree from Simmons College in Boston and her master’s and Doctoral degrees from Boston University. She is a licensed psychologist holding Project Management Certificate from the Project Management Institute.
